Benefits of the Aquastream System in Water Treatment
A new water well that has been properly designed, constructed and developed should have almost 100% efficiency and be free of sand. After the well is placed in production, there is usually an initial period in which the efficiency remains constant. This initial period may continue for many years, or it can begin to drop off after only a few months.
Eventually the efficiency, as measured by changes in the specific capacity, will be reduced and well cleaning will be required. (Specific capacity is defined as gallons of water per minute (gpm) divided by the number of feet of drawdown in the well. For example, 1000 gpm/ 100 feet of drawdown = 10 gpm per foot, or Specific Capacity of 10)
In most cases water treatment and rehabilitation is not fully effective, so the periods between cleaning become shorter and the degree of restoration becomes less and less. Also, because the condition of most wells is not monitored, a deteriorating specific capacity often is recognized only by a catastrophic loss of water production.
